Gaining a Deeper Understanding: Passenger Insights for Brussels Airport

Systematic collection, analysis and reporting of passenger and commercial data to optimize organisational performance.

Background

Starting April 2023, Silverlining Research, in partnership with KPI Aviation Marketing Solutions, has the contract to gather passenger insights at Brussels Airport (BRU).

This project focuses on collecting valuable insights aimed at enhancing the passenger experience at BRU. As one of the airport’s key market research initiatives, the study provides a critical foundation for decision-making across various departments, including Aviation Development, Passenger Experience, Passenger Services, Mobility, and more.

Method

Understanding passengers is of strategic importance to Brussels Airport, as these insights can illuminate potential new routes, shape marketing content for market development, assist in defining the ‘what’ and ‘where’ for commercial developments in products, services, retail, and food & beverage, and ultimately aid in comprehending performance variations.

This project entails conducting over 60,000 annual interviews with departing passengers, gathered by our local staff on-site.

Results

The results are reported monthly and quarterly in our online reporting tool, allowing the relevant project teams to assess relevant insights and developments compared to previous periods and dive deeper into specific areas and target groups. The contract period will last at least until the end of March 2026.
